What Can I Expect?

questionsAt Grace, we know that attending a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. Venturing into unknown or unfamiliar places can be a bit unnerving if we don’t know what we can expect.

In order to assist you as you prepare for your visit, we would like to share some of what you can expect during your first time with us. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us.

You can expect to be greeted warmly!

We won’t publically “call you out” during your visit, and no one will contact you after your visit unless you ask us to do so, but Grace is a friendly church and you’ll likely have many people want to greet you and get to know you.

You can expect to find people dressed comfortably!

At Grace people wear whatever is tastefully comfortable for them – some wear suits while others wear jeans and t-shirts. We are far more concerned with you than we are with your attire.

You can expect to find Sunday School to be engaging for all ages!

Grace has Sunday School classes for all ages. Our teachers work very hard to creating an environment that is both safe and conducive to learning. We are confident that you and your children will develop meaningful relationships with others as you grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord (2 Peter 3:18) together.

You can expect to find us deeply committed to ministry to children!

We believe that God is passionate about children, and so we are too. We consider it to be a privilege that you would entrust your children to us and our number one priority is to provide them a safe, secure, caring environment in which they can learn of the love of God for them in Christ. On Sundays we offer a Nursery for children aged 0-3 years during both Sunday School and the Morning Worship service.

Children are invited to remain in the worship service with their parents. We include a “kids’ page” in the bulletin to aid in their participation during the service. However, for those who prefer, we offer Children’s Church during our worship service. Participating children are released prior to the sermon after having received prayer and a blessing.

You can expect to find our worship service to be joyfully reverential!

Sunday morning worship at Grace lasts for approximately one hour. Our worship service is a blend of traditional and contemporary. Our songs are selected to match the theme of the morning’s message. The Bible teaching is both engaging and applicable to daily life. We want our church to be one in which both older and younger Christians feel at home. We try to maintain a good balance, and the church elders are careful to strive for the worship service to be as conducive to you worshipping the living God as possible. The goal of each worship service is to glorify God by encouraging and enabling you to rest in His salvation and to live out the implications of His Word. To get a more specific feel for what this week’s worship service will be like, you may view the weekly bulletin here.

You can expect to find us deeply committed to God’s Word!

Jesus teaches us that God’s Word is truth (John 17:17). Since we believe truth matters, we therefore believe God’s Word matters. We deeply enjoy each others’ company and we love sharing our lives together. Yet most fundamentally we never lose sight of the fact that we are a people who share a love of God’s Word. At Grace you can expect to find that commitment reflected in everything we do. Our commitment to the authority, sufficiency, and clarity, of Scripture can be seen in our understanding of doctrine.
